I am new to FP and been given job to update existing University of DE
Website using FP 2003. I created a simple layout to deliver information, in
Publisher, saved as a htm Web page and linked it to our site. Opens great in
IE. Links do not work in FF.

Read in posts that some VMF images do not work. I am not working with those
but when I saved Publisher as Web page did I do something? FF opens other
links on our site but not this particular page. FP seems rather cumbersome
to design in, though I could reproduce this simple page from scratch if need
be. Since a lot of mac users use FF, I think this site needs to open in both
browsers.

I think I read my answer. WHen I designed this in Publisher, I had to use
text boxes - that makes my text bullets unlinkable in Firefox, correct?
Therefore my only answer is to rebuild the page - not very hard since it is
not a very complicated design.

Publisher text boxes use VML graphics. The contents of a VML text box
renders as text in IE, and any links will continue to work correctly.
However, VML graphics render (if they render at all) as images in any
other browsers - these include FireFox, Mozilla, Netscape, Safari and
even IE on MACs.

See http://www.rxs-enterprises.org/tests/vml-graphics.htm for more
details.

Publisher is considered to be one of the worst ever programs for
developing web pages, but is very good at what it was designed for -
desktop (print) publishing.
