some imported slides do not show

if I open ppt file with one computer it is fine, open it with another
and and some slides are blank, only background shows. Using Office XP
on both. previous experience replaces fonts not in one system, so I
ruled that out.
 
Do both machines have all (Windows and Office) updates installed?
