some images not visible

hi, we have developed a new website which works on most browsers and
platforms, but there are a couple of our customers that report that they
cannot see ALL images - strangely some images are visible, but some are not.
as there is no "red cross" or image border present, we are at a loss. on all
systems we have tested on, everything is fine. we have tried IE4 to 6,
mozzilla and opera - all ok.
the entire website and images are located on our windows 2003 server, so
there is no possibility of "not accessing 3rd party domains" etc.
i have checked the settings that i am aware of, but all look fine.

really appreciative for any ideas

Hi nudge :-)

You don't mention what type of images they are, jpg. png. etc., or the OS
you are using, but, the problem could be with settings on the users end.
Here are a few ideas you might pass on to those who are having a problem
with the images. Disregard any that don't apply to your case:

Clear the Temporary Internet Files, including offline files

Zone Alarm Pro can block Images in IE

1. Go into IE>Tools>Internet Options>Security>Custom level>reset custom
level to Medium or Low
2. Go into IE>Tools>Internet Options>Privacy>set the slider to Medium or Low
3. Go to this site and read on adjusting the Privacy settings in ZA. It will
explain how to customize on a per site basis.

Kerio Personal Firewall and any other anti-advertisement software you have
on your system will also do this.

You cannot view some PNG images in Internet Explorer 6

also..

Right click on the graphic you see and a pop up menu should appear. Select
"Show Picture" option.

Then, go to Internet Options>Advanced Tab
Show Pictures - check option if
unchecked to display pictures all the time.

hi jan, thank you for your help. on all of our internal systems everything is
fine. we think the problem is occuring on some w2k machines. the images are
both jpg & gif's.

as not all images are being blocked, we are tending for the very last option
that you submitted regarding the SP1 fix.

thanks again for your help

nudge.

Hi nudge :-)

Just as another thought here. Not sure if it applies in your case, but:
