The 'Name' column for the Contacts folder is determined by the text found in
the 'Full Name' field on the 'Name & E-mail' tab. Though it defaults to
'First Last', a drop arrow allows you to select 'Last, First'. In addition,
you can type any text you want in this field, & that will become the
diplayed name of the contact.

Thanks but that doesn't solve the issue of us gamers that identify our
friends mostly by there nicknames and not there real name. Any solution to
that? (other than manually going in and changing there names to match there
nicks)

Are you talking about mass renaming of imported contacts that have a
nickname field? If so, should be a way to script it. I'm looking into
PowerShell, but ask some of your gamer friends as well -- some pretty smart
folks out there.

Right click on the Column list and go to More and then check the NickName
field and then you can sort by that.
