Hi All,
I installed SP3 and tried opening the office 2003 excel sheet. I am
getting error as file error - data may have lost. Once I give ok to that
error I am able to view the excel sheet. What is the solution for that? Is
there any program wise solution using java or perl? Please help me in this..

Thanks,
Sudha Iyer

Same Problem here, I have Office 2003 installed on about 25 computers and
have recently started installing sp3 on them. So far I have run accross one
spreadsheet that gives me multiple (approx 15) popups with File Error: data
may have been lost. If I ok the popups it opens up but this is a very large
spreadsheet with hundreds of formulas and it would take me forever to verify
whether or not there is actually any lost data or formulas.

If I try to open these same files on a computer without sp3 (they have sp2)
they open up without any errors. I've searched several forums including this
one and found a handful of posts where others are experiencing this same
issue with 2003 sp3 and 2007 sp1 but have yet to see any solution other than
completely uninstalling office and reinstalling office without the latest
service pack. In my particular case this would necessitate performing this
on about 20 compters which is not something I want to do.

Has anyone found a solution to this one? Any help would be appreciated.
Microsoft are you there??

We have the same issue and at this point we have to uninstall Office,
reinstall Office and patch only up to SP2. With SP3 the error prompt
will occur and the file will open but we can not trust the data.
Still haven't figure out what the problem is..and applying the MS
Excel hotfix does not solve the problem either.
