Solid Edge & ATI Radeon 9600

I'm having a lot of problems with this graphics card and Solid Edge 14.
The mouse pointer disappears, windows don't refresh or don't clear properly
and many others jokes.

The drivers are the last catalyst version and Solid Edge worked correctly
with my old GeForce2 card.

There is a solution or this card can't work with Solid Edge?

am not sure about solid edge.... but past history for Protel is that ATI
video cards are good for games only... the drivers are too buggy for 2-D cad
programs... ATI are on the totally-forget-about list as far as video
options go for Protel.

Just be thankful you don't get blue screens from it :-)

Looking at the Solid Edge web site I find it to be nearly worthless--they
say that the radeons don't work but don't say what the symptoms are, just a
blanket "this is a consumer product" note. From the design and content of
their Web site (for example the FAQ is all about stock and nothing about
product) I personally wouldn't buy one of their products if the fate of the
free world depended on it, but that's another story.

Anyway, according to the hardware compatibility list FireGL boards work fine
and a FireGL is just a Radeon with a different BIOS and one resistor
moved--unfortunately I can't find a link that tells which one on the 9600.
There is a softmod for the FireGL drivers that allow them to be used with
the 9600 boards--that should get you full FireGL functionality. Go to
<http://www.guru3d.com> and download "rivatuner" and give it a shot--if it
doesn't work you can go back to the Radeon drivers and you haven't lost
anything but some time.
