Hi, I got the following problem...

Situation:
I bought my PC 4 years ago in Malaysia, now I am living in the US and bought
software which requires the United States Version of Windows XP (DeLorme
Earthmate GPS LT20 with Street Atlas 2006).

Problem:
I cannot install the new software ;-(

Questions:
1) I do not know how to find out which windows country version I have?
2) Most important, since I expect to have a non US Version, is there a way
to change the country setting?

Is there anybody who could help or knows what to do?

You would have to purchase and install a new version of Windows XP..

Hi,

later I found the solution in another forum without the purchase of a new
OS. That is how it works:

Go into START -> Control Panel -> Date, Time, and Rgional Options ->
Regional and Language Options I set all settings in Regional Options,
Languages and Advanced to US English or their equivalent, restarted the
Laptop and than installed street atlas 2006 without any problems.

All the best,

Jens
