Other than Vuescan, what other scan software can save the raw scan data?
If I'm not mistaken, Silverfast Pro processes raw image type from
digital cameras only. It doesn't save scan data from a scanner in raw.
So it doesn't count.

Silverfast SE and Ai will let you output the raw data from the scanner via
the HDR output. You can then save that as a lossless file type.

You don't say what scanner you have but, in general, any scanner
software can scan "raw". You just turn off all the "bells and
whistles" (assorted image and color enhancement and adjustments) and
set gamma to 1.0 plus use maximum available bit depth.

Then there is raw and there is "raw"... For example when I scan "raw"
I prefer to use gamma 2.2 and turn on ICE (when applicable) but don't
like the scanner to do any other adjustments to my image, preferring
to do all that manually later in Photoshop.
