Can anybody tell me, can i creat software raid1 disk
mirroring in win2000 pro?
mirroring in win2000 pro?
-----Original Message-----
No, software based RAID is only supported on W2K Advanced and higher.
Hardware based is better anyway, imo.

for, I am looking for Raid-1 Disk Mirroring, not Raid-0-----Original Message-----
Wait a sec here....
I find this in the Disk Management
help for W2K Professional...
---------------------------------------------------------- ----
Striped volumes
A striped volume stores data in stripes on two
or more physical disks. Data in a striped volume
is allocated alternately and evenly (in stripes) to
the disks of the striped volume. Striped volumes
substantially improve the speed of access to your
hard disk. In Windows NT 4.0 and earlier, a striped
volume was known as a stripe set.
---------------------------------------------------------- ------
This is roughly equivalent to software RAID0.
Is this what you're looking for?
See the Disk Management helpfile for more info.
.
Thank you for reply, but this is not what I am looking
