If I not mistaken, encryption function only available in the Windows XP
Professional version.

The link says:

Paranoid for Win95/98

Sure but I never take any notice of stuff like that, my experience
being that most 98/95 stuff runs fine on XP.

Goes off to check... Paranoid installs fine on XP Pro, runs OK.

And doesn't work. :-)

Encryption, yes, but you can still passwork protect folders (not sure how,
but i've seen this question many times in the winxp security newsgroup

Could be 'cause XP uses the NT filesystem which explains why it only runs on
95/98 ? Usually you're better off getting stuff that says 9X/NT and not
just 95/98.

www.kinocode.com has a program call MaxCrypt that I use for encrypting
folders. It can even change them into hidden/system files so they wont
even be seen on your HD.

Put your documents into a compressed folder, then password protect the
zipped folder.

Yea, you can do that with XP Home. (not as easy to get to as it would be
under XP Pro) but its there.

On the other hand, if all you are doing is zipping files, one of the
freeware zip utils may offer encryption.

Zip your porn folder and securely delete your original folder. When
you want access to your porn, unzip porn.zip (having first entered
your password), than securely delete porn.zip.

Seems a bit long winded to me...

Instead of doing a c+p off a website, how about reading the program
documentation?

Perhaps, but it did answer *ProteanThread*'s question.

Because when I read it was 95/98 only, I didn't download it ;-)
