Software problem

I really really need to install my COX cable internet..
but my laptop works fine with all cds but this cox. cox cd
is for windows xp and it loads the logo fine. but after
that, just a empty box!! GRR. my another computer loaded
the software perfectly fine.

whats up with that? how do i get it fixed?

Chuck the CD. It probably only contains a program to change your IE
icons and tweak your TCP/IP settings a little to best work with cable.
Mine came from TimeWarner with a hefty chunk of spyware, too.

I would just set your network card to get a DHCP IP address and DNS
server. That should be enough to get you going.

If you have cable modem problems, though, you'll need to call your ISP.
