Hello,

We are a software company and would like to offer the installation of our
software via a MS Group Policy Object and had a few questions. The goal is
to install the software and modify certain registry settings.

The main question is do we need both a .msi package to install the software
and an .adm file to modify the registry settings?

Sorry if I'm not making sense.

..adm files are group policy templates designed to modify registry or like
settings through group policy - you might want to create an .adm file for
distribution with the software IF you have a demand for such functionality.

..msi files modify the registry based upon YOUR original installer package -
if your installer modifies the registry, so will the msi

not sure if this answers your question,
