I do not have the "Remote Desktop" option in my system/remote window. When I
try to install it from the download center, it tells me I already have a
built in one in "Accessories / Communication". When I open it, I am
seriously scratching my head. I was expecting to change some settings to
allow my laptop to access my office PC, this doesn't seem to be the case. My
laptop has the option to allow remote users and PC doesn't, kinda backwards.
How can I get the proper software intalled on my PC

Are both PCs runnning XP professional?
In XP Professional The Remote Desktop exe file should lie in:
C:\Windows\system32\mstsc.exe

Sounds like your running XP Home edition on the PC. If so then you can not
use Remote Desktop to access/control that PC. Look at using UltraVNC with
its encryption plug-in and XP video driver (installed on the server only) as
an alternative...
