I've just installed XP on a machine I built
I've loaded several software programs that were on my
ME machine. When ever I execute these programs
(Quicken 2004) for one I get the message box error

There is no disk in the drive, Please insert a disk into
drive A:.

I also get this message when I exit. This message never
came up on my ME machine. this is not the only software
this occurs on. The only message the XP help gives a
solution for is on start up

any assistance would be great. Its just a real pain.
(all i have to do is click cancel and i can proceed)

Thanks
Keith

Keith,

This sounds like an option or setup in Quicken. Since
Quicken can be set to backup to a floppy on the A drive,
could that option in Quicken be causing the problem? In
any case the issue points to Quicken since it only
happens with that program.

Just my guess.

This tends to happen when you used a floppy the last time you accessed the
program. Try feeding it a floppy (any floppy will do) and that may well stop
it from happening again.
