When I attempt to reload my hp flatbed sanner software I get the meessage
error 2894,126.
Also I have a Canon Pixma which is unable to communicate with computer when
I try to save scanned documents.
Grateful for any advice.

Of course, everyone knows what "error 2894,126" is by heart. And we know
exactly what you mean when you say your Canon Pixma "is unable to
communicate with computer." No need to mention which version of Windows
XP you have, either.

Thanks for your helpful reply. If I knew what the error message means I
wouldn't be asking for assistance. I am running xp sp2

Do you think "error 2894,126" is a sufficient explanation of your
problem? No need to quote the text of the message? No need to indicate
which program displays the message? No need to describe the precise
conditions under which the error message appears? No ideas at all of
what might be causing the problem?

Lucy: My car goes 'clunk' what should I do?
Mechanic: Huh?

Have you tried Googling the error message ?

Lucy:
What "Jim" is suggesting is that you do a Google search with the subject
reading "HP scanner message error 2894,126". You'll note a number of links
that contain info on this type of error message (including your own post to
this newsgroup!). Hopefully there will be some info in those links that help
resolve your problem.

Naturally you have reviewed whatever user manual came with your HP scanner
possibly under the "troubleshooting" or "error messages" section, right?

Have you also contacted HP about your problem? They do have a "chat line"
that allows you to "converse" with a technician.

It's hard to tell whether the problem you're experiencing with your Canon
printer is directly connected to the scanner problem. Sounds like it is so
it probably would be wise to see if you can resolve the scanner problem.

Hi Anna
Thanks for your response. My problem was with service pack 2 I reinstalled
the scanner and printer and everything works fine. I will resolve the sp2
conflict through the manufacturers.
