How do you report an error to Microsoft about an error in their calander
calculation?

All the settings I see are correct however their calculation are off.

Kindest Regards

Which calculation might that be? Which version of Outlook?

Hello Bill,

Outlook 2007 under Windows Vista with additional Chinese characters provided
by Microsoft. All the latest updates have been installed.

I installed a Chinese Lunar Calander in addition to the Gregorian Calander
as supplied by Microsoft Outlook
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook/HA101670901033.aspx for personal
as well as business reasons. The calander appears good with the exception
that when I display the month, the Chinese Lunar Calander disappears and
reappears as I scroll the weeks. That is another issue not to be confused
with the current and I am still seeking an answer for that.

While installing in all the birthdates, I added my father's birthdate 6th
February, 1931. To keep this align with my PDA, I installed it from that
date itself and have it repeat itself for 100 times (1931 - 2030). Also my
settings for the Y2K is from 1931 to 2030 to coinside my father's birthdays
to avoid any confusion.

According to Mandarin Tool's Conversion Calander
http://www.mandarintools.com/calendar.html the lunar dates for the 6th
February 1931 should be the 19th day of the 12th month to the year of the
Horse. Microsoft show it as the 6th day of the 1st month to the year of the
Ram. Who is right and who is wrong that is the question?

Wikipedia and verifying paper Chinese documents (that I checked at another
department of my work - the University of Melbourne's Asian Institute -
http://www.asiainstitute.unimelb.edu.au) and they both confirm to the
Mandarin Tool's on-line calander. This is solid evidence that Microsoft
this time has it wrong where I am surprised that I am the only person whom
had found this.

I have screen shots of this however I believe that I cannot send this
through Microsoft's newsserver. I would like to show this to Microsoft for
them to correct this bug.

Kindest Regards

I try not to be cynical about this however experience has dictated me to
avoid using contacting Microsoft via e-mails as they see to use their
"recycle bins" constantly.

This is a genuine error on behalf of Microsoft and hopefullt I would like to
see this corrected.

And if you don't report it then it is absolutely guaranteed that they
don't get your report. Newsgroups are not an avenue for access to
free support from Microsoft. While some MVPs reside here, and maybe
even some Microsoft employees, don't expect anything here to get more
attention than you sending feedback to Microsoft using their web form.

Well I did make the report and so far no response yet. I am not that
confident about them getting back to me.

I was hoping that someone knows of a really good direct route.

It costs money upfront. You call them. They charge you. If you
prove that you have found a defect in their product, they don't
charge. That's what I've done when getting hotfixes that aren't
available for download from the web site (call, give your credit card
to pay, prove you have the defect that their specific hotfix
addresses, they give you an FTP server and password, they don't charge
your card, you hangup and download the hotfix).

You free 90-day support for a *retail* version of Outlook 2007 (not
for OEM versions). I believe the contact page lists the number to
call to talk to them.
