Lost software? You have no Idea anymore what software and what version
you downloaded from the Internet and burned on a CD, or you even don't
know anymore if you ever burned that software in your software
collection?

....That's what permanently happened to me.

At the beginning it was easy to keep track of my own collecton. All of
my CDs are properly labeled and have a nice Index at the backside of the
cover, but with time it simply became impossible to remember what's
available on each of the CDs.

Everytime I shortly needed a tool, I had to dig myself through the whole
CD collection:

To make sure if I have the needed Software or not

To make sure if I have catched the latest version from a CD
"Software Collector" is a small and simple piece of software that may
help you out of that dilemma. I created it basically for myself - but if
anybody else can use it too, feel free to give it a try...

Going to try it right now and see if it *is* worth its weight in
Megabytes.

It is completely manually, in that you have to know the names of the
CDs that you have, and then it will search for items on the CD, and
respectfully make a list of them ,to which you can (manually) add your
own images, etc.
