I have a freind with a new laptop using Vista that cannot use Realplayer.
when i click on a realplayer file, the player loads, but the program shows a
"Socket Error" and will not play the file.
how do i get the Realplayer to work?

When I checked the other day, Real Player had a beta version of it latest
player. There is an older version, 10.5, I believe, that is not beta.
Regardless, I have installed both versions on different Vista PCs with no
issues. Try to see if you can get the older version (Real's site only had
the download for the beta of the newer version).

Socket errors generally have a 5 digit number. What is yours?
