Are all celeron processors compatible w/ and socket 370 MB?

I got a M7555lmr which needs a processor and ram, its chipset is sis630e.
I was wanting to find a processor for it priced around 50 bucks if possible.
Celeron looks like my only choice for that price. But i'm not sure what
speed...and what
this fcpga(2) stuff is.

i'm used to socket A processors...this socket 370 board is
new to me.
Anyone have any ideas?

You need to go to the manufacturer's web site and get the exact specs on the
board...
they should have a manual you can download.

the board may or may not support the cpu you have in mind

You can find a manual for the M755L (includes the LMR version) at
www.pcchips.com. There's also a "Support Table" under their FAQs, which
lists the M755LR as capable of using a 950 MHz CPU, or a 1.1 GHz one with
the D0 stepping. (I have no idea why the D0 stepping would be required.)
Both of these are 100 MHz FSB (front side bus) chips.

I doubt that the board supports the lower voltage FC-PGA2 chips. There are
adapters that could make it work (www.powerleap.com), but the added cost
would push the price well above your $50.

You may want to find a used (or at least old) CPU. I doubt that there's a
great deal of value in that old PC Chips mainboard. I see that it's a baby
AT board, which is a little unusual for mainboards newer than 1997.

Good luck.
