Social Security Formatting

I have a column with Social Security numbers. This column,
however, has values with and without the dashes.
(000000000) or (000-00-0000). How can I change the format
to make the entire column have just one format style
without actually re-typing the values?

Then, to put all entries into 000-00-0000 format, highlight the range, go to
Format>Cells>Special and select "Social Security Number"
