When I were 31 I was friends with this guy who was 20, he was going out with the friend of my then girlfriend.

He bought me one of them fold out books of the human body for my birthday and I learnt a lot from that. Actually it was such an unusual gift I have always had a suspicion he shoplifted it from WH Smiths but I suppose his heart was in the right place (groan ;) )

Dave died from a heroin overdose a few years later and I know it's a cliche but he really was one of the finest fellas I've ever known. Still miss the silly sod.

The overdose wasn't straightforward either, he wasn't even a user, but I digress.
