An efficiency drive designed to save £57 million is to cost the Dept for Transport £81 million. There was insufficient time to test a new IT system which then proved "unstable" before it went live.

You couldn't make it up. :D

Something else you couldn't make up;

4 years ago a Jamaican drug dealer was convicted of drug offences and was sentenced to 4 years in jail.
Before he was sentenced he was due to be deported.
After leaving Jail last year, he claimed to have setup a job Jamaica.
He was given legal aid by our government, to sue our government over funds lost whilst he was in jail.
This cost the tax-payer £400,000, he was then awarded £85,000.
We then sent a known Jamaican drug dealer back home with 85 grand, i wonder what he spent it on?

Here's a link to the money wasting debacle.

I can't seem to find a link to the story of this Jamaican drug dealer, though I can find lots of news items telling of the jailing, fining and deportation of Jamaican drug dealers from the UK.

Gentllemen, if you must post these items, which, let's face it, are intended to produce frowns and a whole load of tut-tutting, kindly supply some kind of proof of their truth, links to news articles will suffice.

I thank you :)

Yeah, sorry Flopps,

It was a Military case i worked on which is why you probably can't find anything published as the Army isn't exactly proud of the amount of criminals in its employ.
