so tell me what is so special in new spybot s&d?

i just installed it on the test machine and i really do not see a major
difference yet between 1.5 and 1.6
except it shows a Hint of the Day and when you click where it tells you to
there are not hints anyway
so tell me the differences, is it worth updating from 1.5?

I see a significant load-time increase and scan-speed to results.
IMHO, worth the upgrade.
 
The scanning is *very* much faster than ever before. I haven't actually
measured it, but maybe you can (since you still have 1.5)?
 
The speed of the S&D scan might be faster, but after I installed version
1.6, I found that all my Web pages were loading appreciably slower.

I uninstalled v 1.6 and went back to 1.52, and Web surfing is back to
normal..

You must have unwittingly enabled the SpyBot HOSTS File //***NEVER Use it***//...
 
Hi Randy,

I never had used it in the past with either v1.4 or 1.52, but you're right:
I DID enable the Spybot HOSTS file when I installed v 1.6.

but other than speed is there any real reason for me to put this version on
the 30 computers i service now?
since 1.5 works fine?
and also are they discontinuing 1.5 now that 1.6 is out?

Robin, if I was looking after a raft of PC's, I would *want* the most stable latest
release.
Version 1.6 is for you_
 
I just want to say that anyone that takes care of that many computers should
KNOW that you always use the most updated software especially when it's free
to download! lmao...I would not have you work as a tech for me.
 
that is not necessarily true
ad aware 2007 was an update from ad aware se which was a great "older
version"
ad aware 2007 was a disaster. I put it on 35 computers and all of them had
problems including my own test machine and if you look at the posts in
wilders security and in here you would see lots had problems too.
Sometimes the most up to date version is not the best in many cases.

also spybot s&d 1.5 had some problems with Vista (if you check their forums
and wilders you will see that too.
