So shouldn't my ntds.dit file be updating?

Sorry for the terribly newbie question, but I am new to AD and still
trying to figure some of this out.

My understanding is AD is store in %systemroot%\ntds\ntds.dit. I have
set my Arcserve backup to get the contents of ntds from both domain
controllers, but when I was looking at this, I noticed that while
exactly the same size on both DCs, my ntds files are dated very
differently and are actually dated quite old. I have made changes to
AD users but the files do not seem to change. Am I looking at the
right place?

thanks,

Hal

Whoa! Do not do a file backup of the AD data store! Use your backup
utility to backup "System State"!

Cheers,
