Daniel

I've installed the beta on several machines and all of
them have a glitch with the tray icon mass duplicating
it's self.

Not an issue just annoying....

easy to fix just Mouse over the bullseye and it disapeers
down to 1.

Do you use TightVNC or RealVNC or any other VNC application to remote
control your computer? Is this a Tablet PC? This seems to affect most if
not all Tablet
users.

You might try alternate versions of VNC. We had one report where RealVNC
4.1 had a serious issue--I can't remember exactly what the symptoms were.
OTOH, I've been using UltraVNC and haven't seen any issues at all.

I have doubts that VNC is the cause

I have seen double icons 3 times in my system
The last time was while I was doing spring cleaning the registry
(btw system boots faster after get rid of junk in the registry)

It varies Danny.

I have seen this within PC,s with low memory,
256 MB. Or also within 512 MB PC,s with fast user switcing and
2 or more users logged in.

So I believe this also is a memory handling problem with several icons.

I came to the group here to see if there was a remedy for the multiple
icons. I was using TightVNC at the time.
I switched to UltraVNC, on the advise of an earlier reply, on both
server and listener side. The multiple icons remained.
I'm back to using TightVNC again.

My server machines were a P3 450/384ram running XPproSP2 and a Celeron
500/512ram running XPhomeSP2.

I have also noticed that hovering the mouse over the MSAS icon gives me
a "working" cursor, and often when I open up task manager
gcastDTServ.exe is using a bunch (60%+) of CPU.

Sorry for the wild goose chase in terms of UltraVNC.

I'd sit tight and watch for a new beta build at this point. This issue was
reported quite early in the beta, and I would expect that they will have a
handle on it by now.
