So. I have a 9700pro running Cat3.7 - is it worth the hassle for Cat4.2 upgrade?

Any 9700 pro owners out there had any issues? Is there anything in the post
3.7 drivers that will actually benefit me?!

Not that I know of. The 3.7's are the best I have used.

I like the 3.10's, stable and no 16bit bug like the 3.7's. I'm actually
using the 4.2's now but have only tried kotor with them, not cod. Had cod
3.9 crashes but 3.10 were great. Just installed 4.2's because I was bored
yesterday, so far so good with them.

I've got the 3.10s installed for my 9700Pro with no problems. Work fine with
all games i play

What 16-bit bug?

Nope. 3.7's are still the fastest IMHO, for me anyway and AFAIC the latest
offerings, CAT 4.2's and the Omegas(4.1/4.2) are even slower with all
settings equal...

Thanks - I think I will stick with what I have for the moment!

expect slower performance overall with the 4.2 drivers, but increased
stability on some games (like COD). do a search on firingsquad.com for
Catalyst and you can compare the various versions of the drivers.

i find the 3.7s a hair (and i do mean a hair, not even noticeable) than the
3.8s. but the 3.8's have the much-improved control panel and some additional
bug fixes. also, the 3.8's allow me to run at max refresh in all games
(using refreshforce), the 3.7's don't. finally, the 3.8s are consolidated
into one download.

Fantastic! I have been looking for a site that compares drivers for ages!
Cheers.
