PSIAccess

Hi All,

I am trying to deploy the snapshot viewer to about 500 of
our employees so that they can view reports generated out
of Access. My trouble is that some of them are being
prompted to get their Office CD and most of them don't
have it, can't find it, don't know where to put a CD,
etc, etc (you get the idea). Is there any way to suppress
this need to provide the Office CD? We will be deploying
this to users with Windows 2K, XP and some even with
Windows 98 still.

Any advice would be appreciated.

I don't know if this will help, but we do something
similar. We download SNAPSHOT from the Microsoft Web site
and load on each machine. What we have found is that the
downloaded file has to be ON THE MACHINE getting Snap and
installed from that executable.

Hope this helps.

Hi Sara,

Thanks for that advise. I will make sure to explicitely
say that in my instructions for installation but the ones
that I have had to install do have the install file on
the local computer and the installation proceeds from
that file.

Thanks for the help!

Sarah,

I tried this suggestion and it did not work....I was wondering if there is a
specific file that the computers are looking for that I could put on the
network and when the windows installer comes up I can just tell it to get
that file.

I am having the same problem. I don't think it's a file problem, but a
System Registery entry that is not being made correctly. Does anyone know
the key and setting?
