When trying to use snapshot viewer so I can attach a
report to an outgoing e-mail, I only get a scattering of
data that appears on the report. When the report is run,
it works flawless. When it is exported to snapshot
viewer, only some of the data makes it through. It isn't
one field or record, and doesn't seem to have any
particular pattern as to what's missing.

Any suggestions on why some data is lost? Any ideas on
where I could look for the problem? Thank you!

The Snapshot format is basically a print preview *image*. As such it will
sometimes not show everything on screen depending on your font sizes and
screen resolution. Do you still have missing data when you print the
Snapshot File?

Yes, whatever shows on the viewer is what prints. If it
is a font problem, is there any other way around this, or
would I need to change all affected reports.
Thanks again!

Does the report have a lot of images or other graphical objects? What sort
of report layout is it? Is it a typical Report Header, Page Header, Group
Header, Detail... setup or does it use multiple columns or anything else
like that?

Have you tried using a different default printer driver?

Rick,
This is a very typical "Report Header, Group Header,
Detail" report created by the wizard. I tried a few
different default printer drivers but yielded the same
result. Maybe it's a snapshot viewer problem. Is there
any other viewer programs it can be exported too?
Again...thanks for your attention!

If it were a problem with the viewer you could just send the file to
another PC with the viewer installed and see if it looks ok as a test. The
viewer has nothing to do with the creation of the file, only the viewing.
If it looked the same on multiple PCs then that would rule the viewer out I
would think.

Rick,
That all makes sense. I appreciate your help with
this, although unfortunately it looks like we've reached a
dead end and will be unable to fix the problem. For how
often we'd use it, it probably isn't worth paying for
support to try and find the root of the problem.
Thanks again for all your input!
Kevin
