Hi everyone,

I am using AOL to cennect to the internet but I have my own domain name and
email address. When I was setting up Outlook Express I was advised that I
should use an SMTP provided by my ISP. The problem is that AOL don't release
the details of their SMTP Server. Any ideas how can I resolve this problem?

Thanks a lot in advance.

Regards,

Anguel

1. You can't - AOL does not play nicely with others - they keep their mail
proprietary.

2. Next time, post in an Outlook Express group - it is a part of Internet
Explorer, Outlook is a part of Office. Different programs, different
audience, different behavior, dratted shared name.

I hope that my answer will be more helpful than one that just tells you
where to post next time!!

1. You can try to run your own SMTP server such as Postcast. The program is
free and available from www.postcastserver.com. It sends the mail from your
computer directly to the receiving mail server and avoids the quirks of SMTP
via your ISP.

2. If you have your own domain and email address, is it hosted somewhere
outside of AOL? If so, and your hosting organisation does not provide you
access to an SMTP server, then switch hosts. Email me if you want more
info. If you are hosted at AOL, then try #1 above, or again, switch hosts.
