I have ICS running on my XP Pro computer and have the Internet firewall wall up and running. I have a linux box (SuSE 8.1) that gets access to the internet through my XP machine.

I have an apache server, sendmail (email server) and pop/imap server running on the linux box. It can send and receive local emails, but for some reason I can't receive any emails from outside of the local lan. It has nothing to do with how my linux box is setup because the information (emails) aren't reaching it.

I have setup the firewall to accept port 25 (on TCP and UDP) and forward it to 192.168.0.95 (address of the mail server), but Windows is still dropping the packets as they come in. Utilities I have tested the port with have said that it is stealth because it just drops the packs and doesn't give an ack/nack. Does anyone know how I can make windows xp pro, forward the packets to my linux box properly?

Thanks, Geoff

Did you contact your ISP and have them put in an MX entry
in DNS?

Although it is possible to configure ICS to forward ports, a freeware port
forwarder like portmapper is simpler
