I just installed Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 2. Now I get the
following message when sending email with Outlook Express 6:
"""""
McAfee VirusScan has detected that you are using in unsupported SMTP
extension in your email client.
McAfee VirusScan might not be able to detect viruses in your outgoing
email messages. To ensure that your email messages are scanned, you must
turn off the SMTP extensions in you mail client.
"""""
How do I turn off these SMTP extensions?
Will turning off these cause problems with my Earthlink email server whose
outgoing mail (SMTP) is:
smtpauth.earthlink.net?

Thanks in advance,
Orville

You need to ask McAfee, as that program is creating the error message. You
are using the correct SMTP server for EarthLink.

Ask in an Outlook Express newsgroup. Complain to McAfee. It is their
software that can't handle SP2. Disable VirusScan from scanning your mail.
he on-access scanner suffices.
