Dont know how, but I have managed to get this.....Smitfraud_C Trojan!

I have tried 'tinternet search, D/L about 10 dif. progs to remove, some I had to pay for and refused..... the others said they would remove and didn't.

Have run Spybot, said it had removed it, and hasn't.

Anyone got any words of advice.

Try Ewido you can Google for it and it's free.....should sort the little blighter....

Thanks, but had tried that.

It found it, I followed 'recomended action', reboot, and same problem.

Use the SmitRem Removal Tool from HERE

And DO NOT use the programs found via internet searches as many give false positives to entice you to buy, and many also are in fact viruses themselves - only use the recommended programs via our sister site Spywarepoint :thumb:

Have a go using all the removal intructions HERE, then run Ad-aware, Spybot, Ewido and Windows Defender all in Safe Mode.

Thanks Ady, tried once and failed, tried in-conjuction with a couple of other website's info and stuff, and......., fingers crossed!!!!, been on-line for 10 mins and no pop-ups...yet.

Last Ewido scan was clean:thumb:

Anti-virus programs detect known trojan horses. However, trojan horse programs are easier to create than viruses and many are created in small volumes.

These trojan horse programs will not be detected by anti-virus software.

The best defense against a trojan horse is to never run a program that is sent to you.

E-mail and chat systems are not safe methods of software distribution. ;)
