Is there anywhere to find out what the PLAN is for supporting BCM on
smartphones? I have a Verizon Pocket PC and can honestly say without this
functionality BCM is pretty worthless to me.

Ron,

There is a beta release now that supports your scenario.

Thanks Leonid. The beta works great.... so far :-) Is there anywhere I could
monitor on microsoft's site(or its partner site) to know such a beta was
released?

Regards,
Ron

Well, I wasn't informed :-) and I am pretty much one of the handful people
in the world who cares enough about this product to support it here. I am
building a couple of products that will run on BCM as the platform because I
see its potential.

I knew it was imminent because I asked someone from Microsoft Mobility team
at a partner event in the beginning of October when this was getting
addressed, and at that time there was an internal Microsoft beta the
presenter attempted to show me.

I agree that Microsoft should do a better job at communicating this release
and will follow up with them to see if it can be featured in the mobility
newsletter or something as it should have been. I read my newsletters and I
don't recall this release getting mentioned. Neither was the release of TR
for BCM as I had to hunt that down as well. I did get a notification that
Office TR was available. I'll be posting relevant links on my website when I
get a chance. I personally use BCM 2007 with SBA 2007 and Outlook 2007 for
some fairly critical tasks, so getting my BCM data rendered unavailable by
the TR was slightly annoying. At the very least the BCM TR should be linked
on the Office TR download page "Users who downloaded this also
downloaded..." section and BCM Contacts should be linked to BCM TR download
page.

So I am retroactively posting in threads that mention this subject to notify
the original posters that this release is now available as a beta as of
10/3/06.
