Hi all,
I'm building a system using an A7V600 (latest 1008 BIOS) and a Sapphire
Tech 9600XT video card. I'm installing XP with SP2 slipstreamed in.
After the XP install, the only thing in device manager not recognized
is the RAID driver. I am not installing any 4in1 drivers.
After the install, I'm installing the lastest ATI Catalyst drivers.
The drivers install fine and then the system reboots. After the
reboot, SmartGart auto runs and hangs the system. I have to reboot a
few times and then SmartGart doesn't run. However, when I check the
settings for the card, AGP READ and AGP Write are off. I also ran
3dmark 2005 and only received a score of 800.
I've tried a bunch of different XP installs (without service packs) and
the 4in1 drivers, but the same thing always happens. At first I
thought the video card could be bad, but I replaced it. I also tried
changing some BIOS settings.
Does anyone have any thoughts what could be going on? Thanks!
