Small problem with Send in Outlook 2002

I have the "Send Immediately When Connected" box checked because that is
what I want Outlook to do.
If I am NOT connected, I want Outlook to put messages for sending in the
Outbox until the next mail check. What Outlook ACTUALLY does, is when I am
not connected and I press "send", it dials up and sends the message. How do
I stop this? (Have I missed something?)

Hi Gordon,

Place Outlook off-line and you won't have this problem.
File-> Work Off-line.

Hope this helps!

thanks - I'd just thought of that myself - how do I get Outlook to start up
in Off-Line?
Does the automatic mail check still work when off-line?

Cheers!

Outlook will start Off-line when you closed it in Off-
line mode.

No, mails won't be checked when you are in Off-line mode.

You can set a lot more options for send/receive when you
press the button send/receive... in Tools-> Options-> tab
Mail Setup. Create a group and choose Edit. Here you can
set that the account will receive but not send.

Hope this helps!
