I am using WeatherPulse (with XP) at the moment but it is too high on
memory use.
I wam ideally looking for something that will startup when Windows
starts, sit on my desktop (small size if possible) with the choice of
say 5 or 6 cities and give me the weather.
Also, if I click on the city, then a map of the region with weather info
would be nice. There used to be something called HoverWeather but dunno
if there is something more updated.
Recommendations anyone?

WeatherWatcher (from http://www.singerscreations.com) can do that, but
you need to specify the city and then download the forecast--as far as
I know, it doesn't download the forecast for every city automatically.
Also, as far as the maps, I believe you'll have to open the maps
yourself manually the first time, but after that it'll be in your
"Map History".
