My new Dell laptop has a wide-screen display which has to be run at 1920 x
1200 for the cleanest display.

While some software will scale up nicely when the font size is displayed in
the Display properties dialogue, other software (notably Norton SystemWorks
2006) remains locked in a minuscule, almost readable size.

Are there other options for getting stubborn software to increase the font
size?

Not really.
If that is what the software designers coded in - that is what you get.
You could use the magnification accessibility tool.

Otherwise - drop Norton and find something less intrusive/resource hungry
and more user friendly. =)

Good advice--Symantec's subscription services have become much less
user-friendly and much more expensive recently. Probably time to look
elsewhere...

Many thanks,

Jim
