For years my very occasional need for a printer has been met with
an CANON BJ-20 ..very Old B & W inkjet
Its just packed up.. I will need to get some replacement.

But I only want a simple B&W for text Printer. Something I can get out & in
on those
rare but important times I need to print out ,...I don't need the thing sat
getting in the
way all the time.
As my Computer is set up in a small corner I need a small simple unit at low
cost .
Lots around at low cost ...but fat big boxes they seem to be, with v,
expensive to keep
color cartridges ..
So should I just get another 2nd hand of the early CANON's.?.
a somewhat better print quality would be nice though.

I don't know about small, but a laser printer won't have the
"clogging head" problem you'd get with an inkjet. One
here for $90. Dimensions 14.1" x 11.8" x 8.5" Weight 12.1 lbs.

Another sub $100.00 laser printer is the HP 1018. If you only print B&W a
laser printer is the way to go. HP says the 1018 is the smallest laser
printer you can get. I have one and it works fine. I don't print often and
was also getting the issue of clogged heads with inkjet plus laser is much
more economical in the long run and prints a lot faster than inkjet. Here's
it is at newegg for $99.00 USD but I got mine at Walmart for $98.00 CAD so
I would check there first.

I should just say that laser printers are bigger than inkjet because the
ink cartridge is much bigger so they may not be what you want.

HP Deskjet D2330 Printer

40 us and small footprint
does print color
doesn't mind long durations between uses
carts are mildly inexpensive
