I have a Access database (Access 2000, 100 tables, 170+
queries, 100+ forms, and 100+ macros ) running on a
Windows 2000 Server network. When users boot their pc's, a
log in script brings a copy of the front end to their
local C: drive.
I have a copy of the front and back end on a test network
and almost ready to go live with it. My problem is
performance. Instead of a 5 second lapse to open a form it
is now 45-60 seconds to open the same form.
What exactly causes this decrease in performance? The
encryption? Possibly the filters on permissions? Is this
database just too big to effectively run security? Any
help is greatly appreciated. Shawn
