Slowness when using the address bar in IE7

I have just started to experience slowness when I type in a website name in
the address bar in IE7. This just started to happen now that IE8 is
available (may have nothing to do with this problem ?). If I place the same
website name in my favorites, the site opens immediately. But if I typpe it
in the address bar area and click go, it takes 30 to 45 second for the site
to open.

Has anyone else experienced this problem ?

I am using Windows XP HE with SP3 and have installed all available Windows
updates except IE8.
