Slowness and freezing

Hello. I would just like to know why (and if possible, how I can prevent)
WMM constantly freezes up. It can't handle anything it seems. I try to
import a video. It gets stuck at 99%. WMM is weak and can't take any weight
at all. What the heck is wrong with it?! Why does it feel the need
frusterate everyone. Why does it suck so much?

How about telling us what kind of video (format, codec) you are trying to
import? Is it a file from Kazaa, or something from your DV Camcorder?
Details might help people answer your question.

They are MPEG, and they are from our DVD camera. It used to selectively
(only accepted some, which is also a big problem) import them, now it doesn't
at all.

There's the problem
Convert the MPEG files to AVI and you will likely have no more problems.
