I got a new computer about 2 mos. ago and recently
downloaded and installed the Microsoft critical patches
(and a few recommended ones). More or less since then, IE
has been extremely slow. I checked the DSL bandwith with
my ISP and an independent site and it the connection is
still real fast, but it's taking forever to open pages --
and sometimes they don't open at all. I've also performed
a virus search and I'm clean. Lastly, I tried the "system
restore" feature of Windows XP to go back to the pre-patch
days, but that didn't do the trick either. Any ideas?
