I have been installing Office 2002 on brand new WindowsXP
machines in my office and a few of them are having a
problem with Outlook. When they are switching between
messages and folders its take at least 6 seconds. Its not
a slow network connection because it is slow when
switching to personal folders on the local drive. I have
tried everything and the only thing that works is
recreating their Windows XP profile. I have tried
removing and reinstalling office and that did not work. I
was wondering if anyone else is having this problem and
if anyone was able to fix it?

Hi,

I am experiencing the same here at work. Some others have
it as well. Removing the profile indeed fixes the
problem. For me it comes back after a re-boot and also
after an undock/dock situation.

Any help would be highly appreciated.

Thanks, Siebrand.

Hey guys,

I have been having the same problem for several months
and finally took time to figure it out. I found some
prior posts that suggested disabling IM integration.
Tools - Options - bottom of the "Other" tab.

It worked for me. Good luck!

Hi,

I fixed it by disabling Instant Messaging in Outlook
option in the other tab in the option dialog.

I found this in another message in this newsgroup.
