When I click to open My Computer or Control panel it is taking a long time
to open. What is the cause of this? The shortcuts and Quick launch is doing
the same thing. Is there anything I can do to fix this?

Hi
I am assuming that you are using XP firstgo to Start/all
programs/accessories/system tools/ first use disk clean
up then give your pc a Defragmenter
Then you can try uninstalling some of your un wonted
programs to free up some disk space also any photos that
you have stored on your pc that are not wonted then go
into your email if you are using the like of Outlook or
Outlook Express try and get rid of unwonted mail
especially ones with attachments dont forget the sent
mail folder
do a dick defrag after that and see if that helps
