Hello,

I have a problem:

I have two computers. One is desktop running XP and second is notebook with
Win2K. The net connection between those comps is quite slow. Desktop is
connected to cable modem via 3Com NIC, and second NIC (actually two of them,
one is not used - on-board Broadcom NIC and hp 10/100 NIC) is connected to
notebook. Notebook uses Xircom Creditcard PCMCIA adapter.

I have tested it with three or four different network cables and still have
no results.

Network is slow - copying from one computer to another takes dozens of
minutes!

I'm running proxy software on desktop to use internet on notebook, but it is
also very slow.

Does anybody have ezperience in such connections? What I need to check?

I will be gratefull for any help.

yaay i remember this one

perhaps one NIC is set to 100 mbit FD, while other - 10 mbit HD

check that your card network settings are identical, if they are `auto
negotiation`, try setting different values, same in two pc's

P.S. sorry for my english
