Slow WinXP startup

Same problem as JT describes. I installed winxp. Now
when XP loads starting from the moment the Windows
XP logo appears to the log in screen now takes 3+
minutes. Actually, a few seconds after the XP logo
appears, the screen blanks for 3+ minutes. All updates
have been done and I
have current drivers. So what do i do to fix?

Any suggestions will be appreacia

Steve, I was getting a similar occurrence and it turned out to be the cdrw
drive trying to access or see the
cd. Once I remove it the boot delay was gone.

You might try BOOTVIS.EXE to (sort of) diagnose the
problem. (Google for download location)

Is it a DHCP delay?
