Slow Vista shutdown

I'm running Vista Home Premium on an Acer 5100 series laptop. Vista is the
OS that came installed on this machine. Everything has been great - at least
up until the April 3 patch update. Ever since then, Vista has been hanging
up on the final shutdown screen...it just sits there and never shuts down.

Anyone have any idea what in the 4/3 update may have caused things to go
screwy or what I can do to get my laptop to finish shutting down properly and
promptly again?

Try uninstalling the update and see if that resolves the issue. If so, try
installing it again (possibly didn't install correctly?). If the issue
persists, contact Windows Update support -
