Slow updating, Internet Explorer

When started the Internet Explorer receives the web pages at normal speed.
However gradually the page loading takes more time until at last the waiting
time becomes unbearable.
I have discovered that when I close down my Outlook - or don't start it -
the page loading time becomes normal. - It seems that Internet Explorer and
Outlook don't work properly together.
Any suggestions why?
My program versions are:
Internet Explorer 6.0
Outlook 2000 (companies or workgroups)
Windows XP Professional 5.1

Actually this was not meant as a tip but a question:
How to run both Internet Explorer and Outlook at the same time without a
slow running explorer?

How much memory do you have? What kind of connection do you have? (dial-up,
DSL, Cable)
Sounds like you are using a large part of your system resources to run both
at the same time. Also you mght want to clean out you Temp Internet files,
and compact your Outlook files.
