slow startup

Can you give me some direction as to what might cause my
computer to all of sudden have lengthy startup problems?
I have gone to msconfig and checked the startup
options...nothing out of the ordinary there.

Viruses, spyware, registry problem, failing power supply,
badly fragmented hard drive, it is a long list of possible
problems.
