If you do create a new user, don't nuke the old one until you have
everything like address books, etc.. If you haven't doe it before, the
favorits file is easily transferred. File | Import and Export / follow the
prompts and save it to your desktop, go to the new user and import it.

Yes
If he has an older lap top with less than 128 meg of SDRam, he needa another
pooter. And don't cheap out.
If you upgarded from something like ME (pheeww), need a fresh install with
w2K Pro stand alone.
If it's modern and someone may have screwed something up go to google and
find MSCONFIG for W2K. It will be the one used in XP, but it works.
If you don't know how to use it, go to google, find a support sight like
jsii, and look at tweaking w2k. After that.
Use a Command Prompt and run a checkdisk. Comand " chkdsk /f/r/v ". It will
run at the next startup and takes up to an hour. Defrag. Get a defrag
program that defrags the pagefile.sys also.
If your boss has a lot of trash like every email he ever received, he needs
to print out the ones he wants to remember and nuke the rest.
If he is using MicroShafts I.E. & O.E. you could do with setting up another
User and be deleting the user he now uses.
Be sure and go install SP4.

my boss is using a dell laptop (win 2000 pro). it takes
almost 10 minutes to start up. The only new software is
msn8. I know there are probably a million possible causes.
Where should I start troubleshooting?
